Environmental Solutions has developed advanced water treatment and
monitoring processes for a range of market sectors including the water
industry, pharmaceutical + chemicals industry and the oil and gas
industry.
UVPS is responding to a market need arising from changes
in EC legislation, which will result in some existing purification
treatments being phased out (e.g. chlorination) and other commonly used
technologies being unable to meet new legislation for specific contaminant
(e.g. phenols) discharge consents.
The legislation has resulted in a
market opportunity for a new technology, which is cost effective and
environmentally friendly. The real driver in the market is the principle
of "polluter pays" legislation, which means that manufacturers are
financially liable for their discharges even where they have outsourced
related activities.
We aim to address our environmental
legacy and protect our future through the application of light powered
technologies for energy efficient water/waste purification and the
development of clean technology and renewable
energy.
